BSP is a photography studio and community for professionals and enthusiasts alike - founded by photographers for photographers. BSP has three levels of membership to serve the widest range of photographers.
Professional Membership
For the serious photographer who wants to call the studio their own. This level of membership affords you unlimited access to the studio and the client meeting rooms, 8am-10pm, 7 days a week. You have your own keys to the studio, store your equipment in our secure storage area and have complete access to our lighting equipment and backdrops. You simply book your own time on the online shared calendar, let yourself into the studio, set up, shoot and then let yourself out. This is your virtual studio with no hassles of making reservations. You can book the client meeting room which is on the calendar (Clinton) as well. Many of our members at this level put the studio address on their business card as this is your studio! This membership requires a 12-month commitment.
Term Membership
This is the same as the Professional membership but on a shorter term of 9, 6, 3 or 1 month. This membership is ideal for those that need a full time studio for a shorter term due to travel , relocation or other factors.
Periodic Membership
For those that need studio time but not at the frequency of the Professional level we offer the Periodic membership which allows you to shoot once a month up to 5 hours of shooting. During that shoot you can use our equipment and lighting as well as our client meeting room. To book your time you simply call us and schedule your session. On the day of your shoot we will have your space ready to go, will check you into the studio and check you out and put away the equipment when you have finished.
Pricing
With our pricing model you can reduce your monthly cost by pre-paying ahead. For instance, in our Boston studio if you sign up for a Professional Memberhip and pay for a year in advance the your rate is reduced from $200/mo to $170/mo. We have incentives for bi-annual and quarterly payments as well. This is designated as "Pay Period" in the chart below. For all payments other than Annually and Bi-Annually we require a convenient auto-pay from your credit card.

FAQ Do you need to meet me at the studio each time I shoot?
No. This is your studio. You have keys to the studio, the building and the private storage area. You set up your appointments on the shared calendar and you let yourself in and out. This is your virtual studio.
What about equipment?
As a member you have the option of using your equipment or using the equipment we have supplied which include lights, softboxes, stands, wireless triggers and receivers, beauty dishses, reflectors, etc. You can also store your equipment at the studio in our secure storage area. The storage room is locked and within the storage room you have your own secure storage bin with your own padlock.
Can I shoot in the building as well?
Yes, you can take advantage of the great architecture of both buildings to shoot outside of the dedicated studio space. The Boston studio is housed in an old antiques building and the Clinton studio is housed in a turn of the century brick mill building. Boston has a roof and a basement that allow for great shots outside of the studio. Clinton has a great lobby, halls and an empty unfinished loft where you can shoot.
Some studios are too hot or cold.
Both of our studios are completely individually climate controlled so you set the temperature that is right for you and your clients.
Is there a space to meet with clients?
Yes, Boston has a dedicated client meeting area with a desk and computer for you to use. Clinton has a fully equipped professional client meeting room. Both studios offer free wifi.
How often can I shoot?
A lot! We limit memberships so that each photographer never has any trouble finding the time they want when they want it. Our focus is to offer our members the feel of their own studio so we want to insure that you can shoot any time your schedule dictates. We are not a photo mill, we are a collective of members that value a quality studio setting.
How do I sign up?
You will be asked to sign a contract very much like a lease agreement. New members must sign a 12 month lease, pay first & last month's rent, and a key deposit. You will be issued keys and calendar access once you have paid in full. There are incentives to prepaying your monthly fee.
How accessible is the studio and what about parking? The Boston studio is right off Mass Ave in Boston and is literally a couple of minutes to Rtes 93 and the Mass Pike. The area is not heavily settled and there is plenty of on-street free and metered parking. There is also a T station within walking distance. The Clnton studio is smack in the middle of all major routes including 90, 9, 190, 290, 495, and 2. There is ample free parking at the facility.
What about pricing?
There is a standard montly rate. There are discounts afforded for prepaying. First month and twelfth month rent as well as a $100 non-refundable key and security deposit are due at signing. The twelfth month rent is non-refundable and is fully applied to your rent on the 12th month. To learn more about pricing go to our membership page.
